The New Central Library is the flagship for the Calgary Public Library System and is based on an award-winning Architectural Design. LEED Gold standards utilizing water reuse for irrigation were at the forefront of Ion’s irrigation design. The irrigation system utilizes rainwater collected from the roof of the Library into a cistern as the water source for the site landscape. Micro-irrigation in the form of dripline was used for landscape plant watering for the entire site. The design promotes low volume-low flow irrigation, water conservation and sustainability. The Library was completed in 2018 to outstanding reviews and acclaim.
